Tallahassee has plenty of holiday traditions. For many residents, one is a visit to the Lemoyne Art Gallery for the annual Holiday Show and Sale.
Lemoyne Programming Coordinator Isabella Al-Sharif took a moment out from decorating the Gadsden Street gallery to talk about the show.
"We're about to go into our 62nd Annual Holiday Show event. And it's going to start on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m."
The show features literally hundreds of hand-crafted ornaments and decorative creations of all kinds. Each lovingly crafted.
"A bunch of inventory and giftable items all from local artists, because we are here to celebrate local art and local artists in our community."
Al-Sharif says this Saturday's Holiday Show kickoff will be on a grand opening scale.
"We'll have a huge artisan market, which will feature almost 28 local artists. There will be vendors and they'll be out in our amazing sculpture garden from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. So people can not only come into the gallery and shop for giftable items, but they can also go into our back garden and there will be a full artisan market out there and live entertainment and music."
She says that mix of seasonal and other artwork will extend to the main gallery.
"This year we're doing something a little different. We're having half the gallery be an actual art exhibition featuring fine art from local artists and that will run from November 15th to January 3rd."
The gallery’s holiday shop will be open from November 15th through Christmas Eve—December 24th.
