After a massive makeover of its second floor, Leon County's Main Library now offers a long list of cutting-edge services for the zero-cost of a library card.
Most of the library's second floor now features hi-tech places where people can do podcasting, find a new career and even learn how to operate a bulldozer or backhoe. Library Director Pamela Moore said the goal behind the $3.5 million, 30,000 square foot upgrade is to invite more folks into the space.

"And what do we know about libraries?" she asked. "We know (they're) a trusted place. People will come to the library to get assistance because they trust us. And so we want to be able to make sure we provide them with information resources and research that's coming from a trusted source as well as a trusted person."

Those trusted people, she said, are members of the library staff who can guide patrons through any number of exciting new services in the main library's new upstairs space.
