Leon County has seven library locations

The Big Bend is under a heat advisory until 8 p.m. EST. All Leon County library locations will operate as relief centers today during their regularly scheduled hours.

Aside from usual library activities, those needing a break from the heat can relax and get water and restroom access.

We’re all about “keeping it real, keeping it simple, and keeping it local.” We’ll dive into tough topics but also make sure to have some fun along the way.

News release from Leon County government:

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Leon County today, Tuesday, July 15, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

While the County is under increased risks of heat illness, all Leon County library locations will operate as relief centers today during their regularly scheduled hours. For a list of locations and hours, visit LeonCountyLibrary.org.

As relief centers, County library locations offer air conditioning, seating, water and restroom access, as well as the usual library activities and materials.

While everyone is at risk from the dangers of extreme heat, some groups are more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses. Leon County urges residents to practice heat safety and check on the most vulnerable in our community.
