One of Tallahassee’s best known live, on-air radio personalities has given his final sign-off. Joe Bullard had been on Capital City radio longer than just about anybody.

Bullard was often called "The Almighty." Not only for his broadcasting skill, but also because he's been around Tallahassee since the 1970s, doing an overnight shift at WTAL while going to classes at Florida A&M during the day. During a WFSU interview a few years back, Bullard remembered his lengthy career.

"The rest in history, from 'TAL to WANM, from WANM to the record industry for 14 years and then back to Tallahassee."

Where he ultimately held down the midday shift and program directorship at Cumulus Communications' 96.1 JAMZ. That came to an end last month. Neither Bullard nor Cumulus corporate would comment, except to confirm it happened. Bullard's old air shift is now totally automated.
