4:45 p.m. Update
Local law enforcement says there was one shooter who they have identified as 20-year-old Phoenix Ikner, the son of a Leon County Sheriff's Deputy.
He was shot by officers and has been hospitalized, as well as six other people. Two additional people, who were not students, have died.
Law enforcement says there is no evidence to suggest multiple shooters, as had been previously reported by other outlets.
At approximately noon on Thursday, campus alarms blared with reports of an active shooting near FSU's student union building.
This remains a developing story.
3:18 UPDATE
An alert from Florida State University says "law enforcement has neutralized the threat," on FSU's campus. Officials are still asking that everyone avoid the Student Union, Bellamy Building, HCB Classroom Building, Rovetta A&B Moore Auditorium, Shaw, Peepper, Hecht House and Carraway. Those areas are considered an active crime scene.
In a statement, TMH has confirmed it has received six patients. One patient is in critical condition and the rest are in serious condition.
This is a developing situation. WFSU will provide updates as more information becomes available.

TMH is actively receiving and caring for patients related to an incident that has occurred at Florida State University. No further information has been provided.

According to the university, law enforcement is actively clearing rooms on the main campus.
