For the third year, Florida State University is celebrating a literal connection between the arts and sciences. The school's Festival of the Creative Arts is well underway.

As long as there have been universities, there has been a big divide between the hard sciences and the humanities, which include the creative arts. But FSU Vice President of Research Stacey Patterson believes the disciplines have lots in common.

"We always should be thinking about how our research, our technology impacts the human experience. And that's what our arts and humanities are all about, enriching that human experience."

The University is hoping its event will help students and researchers make that connection. The Third Annual Festival of the Creative Arts goes on until the 23rd of this month.
