Tallahassee's Lemoyne Art Gallery shows off the way traditional art can be reimagined through artificial intelligence this week. The show opens this Thursday evening, Jan. 31st.

Joe Roache's "Southern Exposure" show features paintings that vibrate with bold colors and strong brush strokes. But even he's excited about how his images are being manipulated by FSU digital wizards Will Hill and Keith Roberson.

"They are doing some really innovative things using AI to look at the world and transform it to something moving and visual. So I think what they're doing is really great!"

Hill said the idea was to take Roche's paintings and turn them into a three-dimensional experience.

"Immersion in intimate spaces is to me the pinnacle of art. It's what art should be in the modern era. And we use projectors, AI and other generative tools along with collage and traditional video editing techniques to make immersive space."

Starting Thursday evening at 5 p.m. and continuing through the 22nd of February, that space will extend to Lemoyne's four gallery rooms.
