Florida A&M most recently appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 2022 and 2021.

Florida A&M's volleyball team is headed to the Cornhusker State to take on No. 2 Nebraska in the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament.

The Rattlers clinched their spot after winning the Southwestern Athletic Conference (19-0).

Head coach Gokhan Yilmaz has led them to the big dance three of the last four years. This time, he wants a national trophy.

“That's our goal," Yilmaz told WFSU News. "Every year we learn from the competition—how the top-level plays, and recruit and train accordingly. That's what we’re going to do this weekend as well.”

The Rattlers have never made it past the first-round of an NCAA women’s volleyball tournament.

Their lone victory, came in 2003 when they beat Winthrop, 3-0 in the first round.

The team will have a chance to change that this Friday, Dec. 6, against Nebraska. It's a rematch from the 2004 season, when the Rattlers beat the Cornhuskers, 3-0.
