FSU women's soccer season comes to an end after losing to No. 8 Vanderbilt

Florida State women's soccer team (11-0-1, 6-0-1) secured another victory at home against No. 11 Notre Dame (9-2-3, 5-1-1) on Thursday evening.

Florida State soccer completed another historic season finishing 15-2-4.

The Florida State soccer team (15-2-4) concluded its season on Friday in the second round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship.

No. 8 Vanderbilt (10-3-7) defeated the Noles after a penalty shootout after the game ended in regulation, 3-3.

After regulation and two overtimes, the Seminoles scored on their first three efforts before Vanderbilt goalkeeper Sara Wojdelko denied Florida State's final two shots to win the shootout round, 4-3.

The Seminoles secured 15+ wins for the sixth consecutive season.

FSU recorded 70 goals on the season, tied for the third most in program history and second consecutive season with 70+ goals.

Post-Season Accolades

  • Four Seminoles earned All-ACC honors while five Seminoles were named to the ACC All-Tournament Team.
  • Taylor Huff being named the ACC Tournament MVP.
  • The freshman class also recorded one of the highest point totals in program history.
  • The Seminoles claimed its 11th ACC Tournament Championship, the fifth consecutive conference title marks the longest stretch of conference dominance in program history and tied for the second longest in the competition.
