FAMU hasn't lost a home game in six years.

The Florida A&M football team is looking ahead to this Saturday's homecoming game on Ken Riley Field at Bragg Memorial Stadium.

The Rattlers (4-3, 2-1) will take on Texas Southern (3-4, 2-2) in a possible postseason elimination game.

Coach James Colzie III is no stranger to playing in front of thousands of fans. The university reported this week that tickets to Saturday’s game are sold-out, making homecoming extra special for the first-year head coach.

"We’re excited for another opportunity to be at home, play at home, and play in front of the best fans in the country," Colzie said at his press conference.

The Rattlers won the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) last year. The team also took home the Black College Football National trophy.

A win on Saturday would keep FAMU in arm’s reach of playing for another title, but they must win their remaining five games.

Florida A&M is third in the SWAC East standings behind Jackson State (1) and Alabama State (2).

“I can’t sugarcoat it,” Colzie said. “They understand what’s at stake. We’re still trying to maintain where we are in the conference and the opportunity to represent the East. So, we can’t have any slip-ups that will negate our opportunity to continue moving up in the standings.”

The Rattlers currently hold the second longest home game win streak in the Football Championship Subdivision at 22-games.
