FSU lost Friday in the College World Series opener to No. 1 Tennessee.

Florida State’s chances at reaching its first college baseball title remain intact. The Seminoles (48-16) beat No. 12 Virginia (46-17) 7-3 on Sunday afternoon in an elimination match.

FSU's Jaime Ferrer scored a pair of home runs in the win over the Hokies at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.

Ferrer became the first player since 1998 with multiple four-RBI games in the College World Series.

“This team’s response playing arguably the best game we’ve played this year, pretty much sums up what’s in that dugout," FSU head coach Link Jarret said following Sunday's victory.

Florida State will now face the University of North Carolina on Tuesday, June 18, at 2 p.m. ET. That game will be another elimination match.
