FSU will play top-seeded Tennessee on Friday for the series opener.

Florida State (47-15) has clinched a spot in this year’s College World Series.

The Seminoles beat the University of Connecticut Saturday, 10-8. FSU Outfielder James Tibbs III scored three of the Noles' six home runs.

“We’ve had just as many conversations about that and how we wanted to be a part of the next Omaha team," Tibbs said after Saturday's game. "Words can't really describe how thankful I am and how cool this is.”

It took Florida State pitcher Conner Whittaker, throwing an 85mph ball, to UConn's Paul Tammarou to seal the win.

After the win, Florida State head coach Link Jarrett thanked the hundreds of FSU fans who packed out Dick Howser Stadium in support.

“An awesome day for these guys, for the program," said Jarrett. "I can not say enough about the fans about who they supported. When you're in this situation and you get to do it at home, that's a huge part of it.”

FSU will play top-seeded Tennessee (55-12) for the series opener. The Noles have not been in the College World Series since 2019. However, it's their 24th all-time appearance. They’ll be looking for their first national title in program history

FSU will play UT on Friday at Charles Schwab Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska, at either at 2 p.m. or 7 p.m.
