Godby High School is closed due to flooding.

Wednesday's storm led to significant flooding, including in this area off Mahan Drive.

Amos P. Godby High School is closed through Friday after torrential rain and flooding.

Leon County Schools Superintendent Rocky Hanna said many classrooms have standing water. District officials will distribute food for students at various school sites on Friday morning.

“[We] apologize for the inconvenience it’s caused our students, our teachers, our parents, but we’re doing the best we can to get the campus back in shape so we can reoccupy the campus with our students," Hanna said. "But we want to make sure we do it in a safe and efficient manner.”

He added the district will announce plans for reopening Godby to students on Friday afternoon.

School district officials will distribute breakfast and lunch for students on Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the following locations:

  • Godby High School - 1717 W Tharpe St, Tallahassee, FL 32304
  • Fort Braden School - 15100 Blountstown Hwy, Tallahassee, FL 32310
  • Lawrence-Gregory Community Center - 1115 Dade St, Tallahassee, FL 32304
  • Griffin Heights Apartments - 1010 Basin St, Tallahassee, FL 32304
  • Springfield Apartments - 1700 Joe Louis St STE 15, Tallahassee, FL 32304
