A fugitive from Wyoming has been captured and arrested in Wakulla County.

The sheriff's office says Cody Ellenson, 32, was taken into custody Thursday. He had been on the run since late December and wanted in connection with a burglary and shooting.

According to a WCSO release, deputies from Wakulla’s Crime Suppression Unit worked with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and U.S. marshals to carry out the search.

The sheriff’s office says they found Ellenson in a home in the Newport community. The man who they considered to be quote armed and dangerous, was taken into custody without incident.

He now sits at the Wakulla County Jail, where he’ll stay until authorities take him back to Wyoming.
