FAMU will kick off its 2024 campaign at home this Friday against some stiff competition

College softball is back and the Rattlers of Florida A&M University is looking to pick things up where they left off. The Rattlers finished the 2023 season 20-24, but it was the team’s in-conference play that secured them the No. 3 seed in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament.

After coming up short the last two seasons, the Rattlers are hoping to finish the year off strong with their first SWAC title. FAMU has four returning players who received preseason All-SWAC honors. But will that be enough to get them over the postseason hump?

The Rattlers will face Texas Tech on Friday, in what will be the first game of the season. FAMU will then host the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday.

Both games will be double-headers, which means fans will get two games back-to-back. Both games are set for 3 p.m. at FAMU’s Rattler Field.
