The Seminoles celebrate under a deluge of streamers after winning the 2023 ACC Championship game against Lousiville.

Florida State women’s soccer is bringing the national title back to Tallahassee with their win over Stanford. On Monday night, the Noles conquered the Cardinals in a one-sided match for the NCAA Women’s National Championship.

The game was a rematch of 2018, where FSU beat Standford to secure their third College Cup and Monday’s matchup was no different.

Florida State defeated Stanford 5-1 to win the Women’s College Cup. After the game, FSU Senior Captain Leilanni Nesbeth, described the moment as bittersweet.

“Obviously this is my last time in these threads, but to go out like this, it’s an unforgettable moment," said Nesbeth. "I’ve got my family here and my family back here who have supported me.”

With Monday’s victory, FSU women’s soccer became the school’s all-time leader in national trophies and the first soccer team in program history to finish with an undefeated season.

The Lady Noles have won all 4 of their national NCAA Soccer titles within the last 10 years, beginning in 2014— winning in 2014, 2018, 2021 and 2023.

Florida State will host a celebration ceremony for the Women’s Soccer Team today. FSU President Richard McCullough and team members will be among the speakers.

The celebration will include a spear lighting at the Unconquered Statue outside of Doak Campbell Stadium at 5:30 p.m. Activities will follow inside the Dunlap Champions Club.

Doors to the Champions Club will open at 5 p.m. and there is no charge for the event.
