The weekend's downpours may have washed away Tallahassee's Winter Festival. But it didn't seem to discourage fans of the yearly Market Days to benefit the Tallahassee Museum.
The parking area may have resembled a mud bog, but inside the North Florida Fairgrounds exhibit halls, thousands of people were checking out the three hundred artist and artisan booths. One of those exhibitors was former Tallahasseean Robin Rodgers. He moved to Atlanta a while back, but still produces his distinctive raku pottery adorned with wildlife motifs.
"It's always a pleasure to be here at Market Days in Tallahassee, Florida my home town. I love the city and love the people."
And, regardless of the weather, it seemed a lot of people from near and far love Market Days. Tallahassee Museum Executive Director Russell Daws said afterward that the crowds, while a bit smaller than usual, were enthusiastic purchasers. That's good news for the Museum and its programs.
