Amos P. Godby High School is bringing in a new face to lead its boys’ basketball team. The school announced earlier on Tuesday that Alex Williams will be the next man up.

The Tallahassee native and former football player turned coach, spent the last season and a half coaching at his high school alma mater, FAMU DRS.

Williams would only see 3 wins over 14 games with the Baby Rattlers. He stepped down from the role on Monday in search of a fresh start in coaching high school basketball.

The Cougars are coming off a 12-14 season where they made an appearance in the regional quarterfinals. Williams will meet his new team later this week.

As for DRS, the school will begin the search for its next permanent head football coach, after naming former player Willie Ferrell as the interim earlier today.
