Local and federal officials announced Tallahassee was awarded over $35 million dollars from federal grants to jump start the construction of a new solar powered transit center.

“Public transportation has the power to shape communities," said City Commissioner Curtis Richardson. "As we continue to build a battery electric fleet of the future, we are embarking on a major milestone for our city with the development of the Southside Transit Center.”

The city looks to have all its buses make the transition from gas-to-electric by 2035.
