Florida State guard Chandler Jackson (0) listens to coach Leonard Hamilton, middle, and associate head coach Stan Jones during the first half of the team's NCAA college basketball game against Purdue in Tallahassee, Fla., Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022.

The announcement came Sunday evening by the team’s head coach, without giving an answer as to why.

As a highschooler, Chandler Jackson was heavily scouted, receiving a dozen offers from universities like Alabama, Tennessee, and Auburn.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound guard earned a handful of minutes during his debut season with the Noles, averaging nearly 4 points a game on 40% shooting. He was on pace to become a full-time starter this upcoming season.

When asked what led to the suspension of such a prominent role player, FSU’s Deputy Director Chuck Walsh said that he has no clue, but the matter is being held between both Jackson and long-time head coach Leonard Hamilton.

FSU is coming off a 9-game winning season, the worst in the program’s history.
