Tallahassee IRC to hold annual World Refugee Day celebration

Tallahassee’s International Rescue Committee will recognize World Refugee week this Saturday.

The group’s Leah Costigan says the community is invited to enjoy a range of festivities and show support for families who have found sanctuary in the capital city.

“We’re going to have food, drinks, a rummage sale, bouncy castles, and things like that so that our families can come and shop while their kids play," said Costigan.

"It will be kind of a celebration of how far they have come and the accomplishments they have made since."

The event will take place on the Emergency Care Help Organization grounds (548 E Bradford Rd) in Tallahassee from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
