No. 3 Florida State softball gets the win over No. 9 Duke to win ACC Championship

All-ACC First Team Freshman pitcher Kathryn Sandercock secures the walk-off victory for the Seminoles (50-8).

Florida State’s softball team is bringing the gold back to Tallahassee once again following their 19th ACC tournament title victory on Saturday.

FSU’s veteran leader Devyn Flaherty made several big plays, but she credits their freshman pitcher Kathryn Sandercock for the win over Duke during her post-game interview with ESPN.

"Kat’s [Kathryn] been in those situations," said Sandercock. "She’s done a great job, she’s earned those situations, so we just have a lot of confidence in her pitches and it’s really amazing.”

The win puts the Noles at the No. 3 seed in the national tournament. They are set to host the NCAA Regionals this weekend at JoAnne Graf Field.
