A concert in Tallahassee this Sunday evening will help a local musician who's fighting cancer. The benefit for Kathryn Belle Long happens at the House of Music on South Monroe Street.

That's the musical signature for "Local Routes," sung and composed by Kathryn Belle Long. This past November, she was diagnosed with stage 3 brain cancer and has been undergoing chemotherapy treatments. As her medical bills mount, Long's musical colleagues are holding a benefit concert at Russ Pangratz's House of Music.

"She's probably one of the most loved, respected, beautiful, gentle human beings that I know. And I can't think of a more beautiful soul to do this for."

Performers for the evening include the New 76ers, Avis Berry, Lil' Grizzly Boogie Band and Raisin' Cane. The doors will open at 5 p.m. this Sunday.
