Tallahassee's LeMoyne Chain of Parks Art Festival is coming up April 15th and 16th. The event preview took place at LeMoyne's Gadsden Street gallery the evening of Thursday, Jan. 19 and included the reveal of this year's program cover artist. That artist is Tallahassee painter Anne Hempel whose specialty is wildlife, particularly birds.

"They're inspiring!" she exclaimed when asked why she considered them such great subject matter for her creativity. "They lift me up. They're colorful. I never get tired of discovering - and I do discover - new varieties of birds and their behavior."

Festival Chair Kelly Dozier said Hempel's image of two woodpeckers will grace the 2023 Chain of Parks Festival program book.

"Her art is so beautiful and fun! And we're so excited about the woodpeckers representing the festival this year."

The LeMoyne Chain of Parks Art Show and Sale has consistently been ranked among the very best events of its kind, not only in the southeast, but also nationwide.
