CareerSource Capital Region is working to pair job seekers with opportunities.

Anyone laid off right before the holidays may find job opportunities in Quincy on Wednesday, Dec. 21. CareerSource Capital Region will host two open houses for anyone across the Big Bend needing a job.

Attendees can get job referrals as well as help preparing for a job interview. Partner agencies will be there to assist with applications for jobless benefits and food stamps.

It's not uncommon to hear about layoffs at the end of the year. The state’s largest medical-marijuana operator is facing a potential class-action lawsuit over recent layoffs at its grow operations in North Florida. Former employees claim the Tallahassee-based Trulieve failed to give adequate notice required by federal law before letting them go.

The CareerSource open house will be held Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at 1140 West Clark St. in Quincy. Click here for more information.
