There are many hundreds of non-profit service organizations around North Florida. The new executive director of the Institute for Non-profit Innovation and Excellence plans a recruitment push to bring more of those agencies into the fold.
Former Florida State Univerity College of Law faculty member Kim Grippa is the newly-named head of the Institute. It provides all kinds of support services, including staff and organizational training, to the area's non-profits. Grippa says among her top priorities is reaching out to those agencies that are not now a part of INIE.
"There are thousands of non-profits in the Big Bend area. The potential for growth is very large. So I want to hear from the nonprofits that aren't members. Is it because they aren't aware we exist and what we can do to help them? I want to expand the membership," she commented.
But first, Grippa said she'll meet with every existing member of the organization to learn what they need from INIE. Grippa takes over the post vacated by Felina Martin last year.
