Summertime is considered Tallahassee's "slow season." But, now the area's tourism arm is trying to get more people out and about.
Visit Tallahassee's Keri Post said the promotion is called the "Summer Bucket Challenge."
"Each month, we feature about 20 local businesses on the bucket list to encourage residents to go explore these, new restaurants as well as favorite restaurants."
Non-restaurant attractions are on the list as well. And Post said there are incentives for those visits.
"When you visit that local business, snap a picture, post it on Instagram and use the hashtag: #tallybucketlistsweepstakes."
Prizes, up to an inclusive luxury staycation, will be awarded. Post said the ongoing goal is to turn more local residents into tourism promoters when it comes to visiting friends and relatives.
