A Halloween Trick-or-Treat Drive-Thru will be held at Governor’s Square Mall this Saturday. It’s ideal if you’re looking for a socially distant Halloween experience.

The event will feature decorated displays, bags of candy and toys for kids, a food distribution, and a virtual costume contest.

The celebration runs from 11a.m. to 1p.m. in the vacant parking lot outside the former Sears store. Organizers say it will follow COVID-19 health guidelines. Attendees are asked to wear face coverings, stay inside their vehicles, and follow the traffic pattern for safety.

The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Second Harvest of the Big Bend, Whole Child Leon, and other community nonprofits for the event.

How to enter the contest: Take a picture of your elementary-age child in costume. Post it to Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #ALLinLEON. The contest ends at 1pm Saturday. The winners will be announced Monday, November 2.

Prizes:

  • 1st Place - $100 gift card
  • 2nd Place - $50 gift card
  • 3rd Place - $25 gift card
