Tallahassee Police Investigate Homicide On South Monroe Street

Tallahassee police say the shooting appears to have happened during a robbery attempt.

News release from the Tallahassee Police Department:

Shortly after 2 p.m. on Oct. 3, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a report of someone being shot. Officers arrived on scene at the Sunoco gas station, located at 1417 South Monroe, and discovered a deceased adult male victim inside the store suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. At this time, it appears the homicide occurred during a robbery attempt.

The suspect was described as a Black male between 25 and 35 years old, between 5’7 and 5’8 tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds. He was described as wearing long dark sweatpants, white sneakers, a light colored button down with a dark undershirt and a blue beanie style winter hat.

Tallahassee Police Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, but did not speak with an officer on scene, or anyone with information about the shooting to please call 850-891-4200. They may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.

This is an active investigation, and updates will be provided as they become available.
