Gadsden Has Its First Coronavirus Case In County Limits

Gadsden County now has its first positive case of coronavirus. County Commissioner Anthony Viegbesie announced it during a virtual teleconference Friday morning.

“The individual is a 32-year-old female with unknown travel history,” Viegbesie said.

Gadsden had been among the few Florida counties with no confirmed COVID cases. The county commission is extending a local order that allows for gatherings like church and funerals to still take place as long as they follows CDC social distancing guidelines. The county’s 9:00 pm to 6:00 am curfew also remains in place.
