Employment On The Rise In Leon County

In the last year, employment in Leon County has risen 2%, while the average weekly wage has increased by 4%. Leon County has seen significant fiscal improvements over the last twelve years.

The data and economic information published by The Office of Economic Vitality reveals employment levels have increased for the past two years. Ben Pingree, director of Planning, Land Management and Community Enhancement, went into detail about what is driving job growth in Leon County.

“In this case, over the last year, it’s financial activities, construction, and professional and business services.”

The Office of Economic Vitality is not just responsible for reporting occupation trends, but also plays a role in contributing to job growth. In the past two years, 31 projects have been implemented by the organization to increase employment in the county.
