The number of people running for Tallahassee mayor has now grown to four. Dustin Daniels has resigned as chief of staff to current Mayor Andrew Gillum in hopes of succeeding his former boss.
Daniels filed his paperwork Friday (4/13) morning at the Leon County Elections Office. Among the city’s hot-button issues Daniels said he can address is all the development in places like the Collegetown corridor and Cascades Park that has many people upset.
“A lot of this friction is being caused because we are not being inclusive and we have not been listening to the folks in the neighborhood. I think we can have growth and I think that we can also be respective of the lived experiences of those individuals as well,” he remarked.
Other names so far in the run for Capital City mayor: Leon County Commissioner John Dailey, Veterans Advocate Joe West and FSU student Erik David.
