Crowds Flock to Railroad Square for ArtisGras

Tom Flanigan

Tallahassee's Railroad Square Art Park hosted its annual Artisgras Festival on Saturday, Feb. 17.

Music included the Lofty Pursuits Marching Band, while Adrian Foglin with the duo "Hot Tamale" was happy to play and talk about her group's new song "Red Betty."

"My husband's family said to the kid sister, whose name was Betty, 'Red Betty, get the bed ready!' We obviously altered it considerably for this song," she laughed.

Lucrezia Bieler said all the activities meant more people to stop by her South of SoHo Gallery.

"It's wonderful that they have so many nice things like the music and all," she remarked.

They also visited printer Mika Fowler in his shop.

"What we do here is really letter-press printing that has been abandoned my most printers," he explained, adding a touch of time-travel to a uniquely cross-cultural day.
