A new trailhead off Baum Road opens Wednesday with a celebration.
Leon County is inviting the public to celebrate a new trailhead opening Wednesday. The St. Marks Headwaters Greenway will offer three miles of trails, where community members can horseback ride, bike, hike, and run. Visitors will be able to bird-watch and spot wildlife. The St. Marks River can also be viewed from the greenway.
The new trailhead features pavilions, picnic tables, and equestrian parking. It will also offer an informational kiosk which will showcase upcoming county events.
The opening celebration will start at 2 p.m. A hayride and hiking tours will be available immediately afterward. If you plan on attending, the Parks and Recreation department suggests wearing comfortable clothing and shoes.
