You win some, you lose some doesn’t sound like a championship strategy. But, Florida A&M University’s new football head coach, implementing this mindset is a step in the right direction.
With six straight losing seasons and four head coaches in that time, FAMU has turned to Willie Simmons, to turn things around. Simmons brings a hometown pride with him; something he believes can strengthen the University’s bond with the community on and off the field. Simmons’s game plan focuses on a winning mentality wherever FAMU has a presence.
“Well I think winning is a relative term…We’re gonna win championships on the field, we’re gonna graduate our student athletes, we’re gonna be pillars of the community,” says Simmons
Simmons spoke at a press conference Tuesday. The event drew a lot of support from Gadsden county residents where Simmons grew up.
