Leon County and Tallahassee law enforcement agencies have called their North Florida state and local law partners for backup.
The new “All-In” initiative is intended to nab as many criminals as possible before they get to the Capital City area. Leon County Sheriff Walt McNeil stood before more than a dozen other area sheriffs and state police to make the announcement Wednesday (11/1) in front of the Florida Sheriff’s Association headquarters building.
“Operation All-In will consist of putting more boots-on-the-ground to assist in the fight against guns, drugs and gangs on our local streets,” he said.
Florida Highway Patrol head Col. Gene Spaulding added that would include sending some of his troopers into atypical territory.
“You’ll see troopers in the neighborhoods on some residential streets and local roads. We’ll bring in additional troopers from around the state to help support this All-In operation.”
Spaulding said the Patrol used this Criminal Interdiction Unit with great success already in the Jacksonville area.
