Hopeful Entrepreneurs Pitch Their Products

Tom Flanigan

Six hopeful entrepreneurs were pitching their products and services to a very interested Capital City audience the night of Wednesday, Nov. 30. The Pitch Night showcase was hosted by the Tallahassee Innovation Partnership and took place at The Gathering above Madison Social in trendy Collegetown.

Among the eager demonstrators, Ryan Kopinsky. He has a technology that aggregates everything you need to know during a disaster.

"All the information can be in a centralized space, not not just on social media and the newspaper; everything distributed," he said describing the online service. "But what 'Status TLH' provides is a central hub of all the information you need during emergencies."

William McCluskey's "Proper Channel" is an online, constantly updatable operations manual for any organization.

"By simply sharing information and crowd-sourcing your solutions, now if anyone in your organization has figured out how to do something, your entire team knows how to get something done," he explained.

Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum sees startups like this transforming the community.

"And hopefully what that will lead to is the growing of a new kind of economy for Tallahassee, a growing and expanding future economy for our city."

That's something each of Wednesday night's pitchers hoped their concepts will help accomplish.
