The new Urban Market is now open at the Centre of Tallahassee. For a team of real Italian chefs, it's a longtime dream come true.
The official ribbon-cutting took place Saturday afternoon (10/1). The Urban Market features dedicated areas serving pizza, pasta, gelato and an enclosed restaurant for fine dining. Market CEO Mirko Di Giacomantonio said he and the other partners have been professional chefs their entire careers.
"We've been doing this for a long, long time," he noted. "Actually, even before us (as partners). It is our life and our passion and that's what we bring to the table."
He said they hoped for many years to someday combine forces and open a multi-faceted eatery in one location. That ideal location, Giacomantonio explained, was Tallahassee.
