The heavy winds of Hermine have left behind fallen trees and broken branches among other unsafe debris on the road. Leon County Spokesman Mathieu Cavell stated the city and county are using private contractors to clean up the community.“Piles of vegetative debris everywhere,” Cavell said. “That kind of debris, that volume and that classification takes a concerted effort from contractors that the county and city are engaging to go around and make those collections over the weeks ahead.”
Leon County, the City of Tallahassee, and the State of Florida will pick up and dispose of yard waste and debris. Clean up starts Friday and is expected to be complete within the next two weeks.
