Hurricane winds and heavy rain led to downed power lines and power outages after Hermine. The City of Valdosta’s response to the damage may take weeks.
To help speed up cleanup efforts, and to lessen any nonemergency calls to 911, citizens are encouraged to report any service requests on the mobile app “Valdosta Click and Fix.” The app uses GPS to locate the problem area, and allows for users to upload images to accompany their report, as well as a menu of commonly reported issues. Mayor John Gayle hopes these efforts will help as the city returns to its “new normal.”
