Leon County's popular "Tour Guide" program began over the weekend at Tallahassee's Mission San Luis. The program is now under the direction of a new tourism head for the county.

The bells were ringing at Tallahassee's Mission San Luis on Saturday (7/16). As part of the yearly TOUR Guide program, admission was free for everyone. That included former Capital City native Whitney Hood. Although now living near Pensacola, she said she always stops by the Mission when she's back in her hometown.
"The reason I came here was because of the blacksmithing," she remarked as her pet parrot "Augustine" perched happily on her shoulder. "I'm interested in that, besides it's really nice and open (here) and it's fun to love our history."
And now there's a new director of Leon County Tourism, otherwise known as "Visit Tallahassee". She is Kerri Post, most recently Florida's deputy Secretary of State. She oversaw tourism marketing for Leon County between 2009 and 2012. She succeeds Lee Daniel who recently retired from the position.
