Air conditioning manufacturer Danfoss Turbocor is breaking ground on a new 20,000 square foot research and development facility in Tallahassee.
The Denmark-based company is expanding its existing location in Innovation Park to develop new air conditioning technology. Ricardo Schneider says Danfoss Turbocor is invested in energy efficient solutions.
“We are the largest manufacturer for this revolutionary technology of magnetic centrifugal compressions that reduces up to 40% energy in commercial buildings. So we have a huge responsibility to deal with this climate change that we're talking about,” he said.
Danfoss says it looks forward to collaborating with the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering and the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory. The groundbreaking follows a push from Governor Rick Scott to permanently eliminate sales taxes on manufacturing equipment.
