WFSU-FM’s Reporter’s Notebook: What to expect on the air today

 

Starting in July, speedy motorists will have the Florida Highway Patrol on their side. A new law passed last session, will make slow driving in the left lane on highways a ticketed offense. People driving 10 miles under the speed limit, could be fined up to $60.

When it comes to higher education Florida Governor Rick Scott is looking for a good return on investment. According to a new survey some Florida schools are doing a better job of that than others. Florida A&M University was ranked number four in Florida on the College Database’s list of most affordable schools with the highest starting salaries.

Meanwhile, activist Lauren Book is kicking off a campaign to ensure children aren’t being abused by their summer caretakers. She’s teaming up with the Florida Department of Children in Families to help parents, children and youth-serving organizations spot the signs of child abuse and neglect.
