Around the state
Governor Rick Scott is continuing his work on bringing jobs to the Sunshine State. Scott is urging business leaders from other states to “buy a one way ticket to Florida,” in hopes of bringing in more permanent corporate citizens.
Meanwhile the Governor is awarding his 25th Great Floridian Award at the Florida State University School of Medicine. The Great Floridian Award was created in 1998 by the Florida Department of State and was subsequently ended in 2000 and later resurrected in 2007 to recognize the achievements of state citizens in all sectors of public life.
