BLOUNTSTOWN, Fla. (AP) — When the boys clad in red and white charged onto Bowles Field on Friday nights, the townsfolk packing the bleachers at Blountstown High could set aside the week's travails and cheer on the home team Tigers.
Deondre Francois, former starting quarterback for Florida State University football, was released from the team over the weekend. Seminoles Head Coach Willie Taggart made the announcement after a video surfaced online that allegedly has audio of Francois in a domestic violence altercation with a woman.
Florida State University introduced Willie Taggart Wednesday as the school’s new football coach. The school is paying $30 million dollars over six years to lure Taggart away from the University of Oregon.
When it comes to softball, Tallahassee’s higher education institutions are on a roll. Florida A&M, Florida State and Tallahassee Community College’s women’s teams are all heading to playoffs, giving the Capital City something to cheer about.
