Today, cars circled city hall, honking in protest against an amendment that could clear the way for more development of the Welaunee Plantation. County commissioners voted to go forward with a virtual public hearing on the amendment despite an earlier decision to hold off. People can submit public comments, but they will not face the commissioners in person. That's caused some, like Brian Lupiani, to join the protest. He says the city should not host the meeting and that officials should take care of Tallahassee's south side before adding more territory to its boundaries.
