Tallahassee civil rights attorney Daryl Parks has won the Democratic primary for Florida Senate District 3.
Parks beat Gadsden County Commissioner Kimblin NeSmith in the Democratic primary race and will face off against Republican Corey Simon in November.
“Our overwhelming victory in the primary is just the beginning,” Parks said in a statement. “I'm excited to take our message to voters across Senate District 3.”
Thank you, North Florida!

Parks pulled in 82% of the Leon County vote. In a statement released to the media Tuesday evening, Parks celebrated his victory and said he believes voters are ready for a change.
Parks already begun campaigning against Simon, the Republican incumbent who won the seat two years ago.
Parks’ campaign has routinely thrown jabs at Simon for what Parks calls a “conservative stance” on women’s rights and health care.
