The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s office is investigating claims of voter registration fraud.

The issue of voter fraud is entangling the Republican Party in Florida.

WPLG Local 10 originally reported on allegations that senior citizens in Miami-Dade County had their party affiliation changed from Democrat to Republican without their permission.

The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s office is currently investigating the claims.

The Republican Party of Miami-Dade says it didn't know about the problem. They claim that it's also happening with Republicans being switched to Democrat.

WLRN's Danny Rivero asked the head of the Republican Party for proof.

“I also contacted the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, which in turn told me emphatically that they have never heard anything of the sort that Republicans in Miami-Dade County are getting switched unknowingly to the Democratic Party,” Rivero said. “Emphatically, they say they have never heard of that. They've never received any complaints of that.”

Sen. Annette Taddeo, D-Miami, said in a press conference last week that she's heard from voters across multiple counties that it's happened there, too. Taddeo is a candidate in Florida’s Democratic gubernatorial primary.
