Floridians have until the end of the month to register to vote in Florida’s Primary Election or update their party affiliation.
Florida has closed primaries.
That means only voters who are registered members with a party can vote for candidates in that party.
So, if someone, for example, is registered as a Republican, they will not be able to vote in the primary for any person affiliated with the Democratic party—and vice versa.
Using the website RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov, Floridians are encouraged to check their current voter registration status, register to vote, or update their existing registration.
Florida’s primary election is August 28th.
