TaxWatch Announces Award Winners

Florida TaxWatch announced the winners today for the Prudential Productivity Award. Going the extra mile for taxpayers, the Guardian Ad Litem Program and the Florida State Park System GIS Team won the top cash prizes.  

The Prudential Productivity Awards brings recognition to state employees who reduce taxpayer costs and progress statewide services. Director of Communications Chris Berry praised the Guardian Ad Litem Program for providing courtroom representation to 470 abused children.

“The Guardian Ad Litem Program launched the Defending Best Interests Project, providing through a partnership through the Florida Bar free private representation on pellet cases to dependent children," Berry said.

The Prudential Productivity Award Winners will be celebrated on June 5th at the Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. Florida State University Football Alumni and Heismen trophy winner Charlie Ward will speak following the ceremony. 

Kaleigh Wright is a senior at Florida State University pursuing Studio Art, Film Studies, and English. Before her debut at WFSU, Kaleigh worked at Capitol News Service as a Production Assistant and Florida State University as Senior Photographer. Her ultimate goal post-college is to pursue a career in documentary film-making. When she is not behind the camera or in front of the microphone, you can find Kaleigh watching anything by Wes Anderson and kite surfing.
